Grandfather - Jim O'Connor born in County Cork, Irelan
Grandmother - Nora?? born in Ireland
Father - Edward Merrigan born in Ireland in 1833
- came to the USA at a young age
- Reportedly prospected for gold and came to SD with "his pocket lined with gold".
- He is buried in St Joseph's cemetery, a church close to Grandmother and Grandfather Farley's farm.
Mother - Catherine O'Connor born in 1860
Notes:
Edward and Catherine Merrigan moved to the farm in Garryowen, SD in 1892 where their granddaughter, Elizabeth Merrigan still lives.
Dad (Delmar) and I (Mary) went to the 100th anniversary celebration of the farm in1992 when we went to SD and Iowa after mother died to meet her cousins at their family reunion in Sioux City, Iowa.
